Walk on the Wild Side

Take a walk on the wild side by merging unexpected elements: 

polka dots, stripes, Mason jars, and zebra-printed glasses.

Mason jars might be the most versatile glassware in the history of tablescaping. They can hold preserved food...or flowers.

Silver napkin rings are at home with stainless flatware.

The design in this breakfast room is assertive. The tangerine-and-lemon striped draperies want to fight with every tablescape. To tamp down the wildly divergent patterns and textures, I united them with  color--black-and-white. Little splashes of yellow--the soup bowls and orange-centered flowers in Mason jars--added a fun element.

Layers, layers, layers.

My husband loved these darling zebra-striped glasses.

"A safari table!" he said.

Now there's an idea!
